It never ceases to amaze me how cruel people can be.
In the case of Megan Meier (a young girl who takes her own life into her hands over the break up of a boy that she had known for less than 4 months). That's the one thing that everyone is ignoring. Megan didn't know that Josh wasn't a real boy. He was as real to her, as my own boyfriends were. Were they cruel? Yes, when they wanted to break up things were said that where cruel and hurtful. Did my world feel like it was coming to an end? At 15, when it came to my feeling getting hurt, it wouldn't have mattered it my parents grounded me I thought that my life was ruined. When someone takes their own life why do we have to blame anyone it is a horrible act anyway and Megan she couldn't see beyond what had happened to her. If Josh had been a real boy I think you would have had the same results, so then would you blame Josh for Megan killing herself. Teenagers are always breaking up, so wouldn't it be better to put a law in place that you can't have a boy/girl friend until you are 18? Face it, Megan wasn't mature enough to have a boyfriend.
MySpace, FaceBook, ect. They all have terms and condition in place and are often overlooked. With today's technology they should be able to set up some type of age verification to ensure that their clients are over 18, I not sure if it be unlawful but at the end of the day, many parents are just plan STUPID. They would set the account up for their child, disregard the fact that they are putting their child in harms way, that their might be a valid reason why these regulations were put into place. Then it is everyone elses fault why their child was, hurt, kidnapped, killed.
I would like to see that All Terms and Conditions in larger print and a condensed version put out there, as well. It would to their advantage to have the CFAA standards in a check list that they have to check off that they have read and understood them.
We have made the Term and Conditions too lengthy so many people don't even read them. I understand that they do this because they have to make sure they cover all the points. However, It has lost it's purpose when people stop reading them. You take Lori Drews situation where the jury did find Drew guilty of a misdemeanor violation of the CFAA. and the judge overturns the conviction because she was unaware what CFAA was about.
